CPM Bible College Degree Programs
Associate Degree
The CPMBC Degree Programs have been developed to educate, empower and equip men and women for their ministry call. Each degree program is accredited and is to be used in Christian vocations. Each program level will awaken a vision and spiritual insight towards the individual calling and destiny God has prepared for each student.
ASSOCIATE OF BIBLE AND THEOLOGY
This is a 60 credit hour Bible and Theology program designed to build Godly character and help establish a strong life of faith. Students will gain further knowledge, understanding and application of the Scriptures.
BACHELOR OF BIBLE AND THEOLOGY DEGREE
The Bachelor of Bible and Theology degree applies to all ministry calls; teachers, pastors, evangelists and all those who plan to teach and preach the Word of God.
BACHELOR OF MINISTRY LEADERSHIP DEGREE
The Bachelor of Ministry degree includes a strong foundation in Theology with special emphasis on leadership, dynamics and practical ministry application. This program develops leadership ability and enhances ministry skills for expanding vision and faith.
BACHELOR OF CHRISTIAN COUNSELING DEGREE
The Bachelor of Christian Counseling degree is a pastoral counseling program designed to be used within the framework of Christian service. The Christian counseling degrees are offered in cooperation with the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC).
(The CPMBC Counseling Program is not recognized by the State of Louisiana for the purpose of professional licensing.)
Master’s Program This 45 credit hour ministerial program is designed to prepare the student for a greater degree of ministerial excellence and effectiveness. This program specializes in an area of study directly related to their ministerial call. In addition to coursework and a thesis, graduate students will fulfill an internship corresponding to their field of study.
MASTER OF BIBLE AND THEOLOGY The Master of Bible and Theology degree offers the student an opportunity for in-depth Bible and Theological study. Complementing our Undergraduate Program, the Master’s of Bible and Theology provides the student with ministry application opportunities in the field through an internship practicum.
MASTER OF MINISTRY LEADERSHIP The Master of Ministry Leadership is a well-rounded, in-ministry program for pastors, counselors and other full-time ministers. This program places an emphasis on leadership skills, counseling and theology. It builds on ministry experience while challenging the individual student to pursue and realize their full potential as a leader.
MASTER OF CHRISTIAN COUNSELING This Biblically based program is designed for those involved in pastoral counseling within the framework of Christian service. It will enable the student to meet the emotional, spiritual and psychological needs of all age groups. The program prepares the student for a wide range of contemporary challenges encountered in the local church and Christian ministry. This degree is offered in cooperation with the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). Doctorate
The CPMBC Graduate and Post Graduate Programs offers students the opportunity for an in-depth study in a specialized area of ministry and to earn a Master’s Degree and/or a Doctoral Degree. This is a great opportunity for pastors and Christian leaders to receive a Master’s and a Doctoral Degree with a very affordable tuition and flexible schedule. These accredited programs offer practical application in the field as well as academic achievement.
DOCTORAL PROGRAM
The Doctoral degree is a terminal degree representing the highest level of academic achievement possible. CPMBC offers a 44 credit hour Doctoral Program to prepare candidates for the greatest level of ministerial excellence. Students specialize in an area of study directly related to their ministerial call. In addition to coursework, research and a dissertation, doctoral candidates also fulfill an internship corresponding to their field of study.
Prerequisite: A Masters Degree with a minimum of 60 hours in Bible and Theology from an approved college or university. Applicants with a strong undergraduate program in religion may petition for advanced standing in the program, which could allow them to qualify for an accelerated study and savings on their tuition.
ACADEMIC COURSES
KNOWING GOD
The starting place in any minstry endeavor is to have a strong and intimate relationship with God. This course brings the learner to a new level of understanding regarding who God is and what His desire is relationally with His people.
OLD TESTAMENT SURVEYI
Providing an overview of The Old Testament from Genesis to II Kings, this course gives the student a solid overview of the Old Testament. The perusal through each book presents the author, message, theme and spiritual emphasis revealing the intertwining thread of redemption to mankind.
OLD TESTAMENT SURVEY II
This course is a continuation of Part I. The splitting of the Kingdom ushered in a new methodology of God’s interaction with His people, that of the prophetic message. The power of a covenant keeping God provides the platform from which this study blossoms.
NEW TESTAMENT SURVEY I
This course is an historical and thematic survey of the contents of the four Gospels and the Book of Acts. Particular attention is given to the cultural, historical and geographical settings for the preparation, entrance, and ministry of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
NEW TESTAMENT SURVEY II
This course is a continuation of New Testament I and offers a historical and thematic survey of the contents of the New Testament from Acts to Revelation. Special focus is given to the impact of the message of Kingdom living that the epistles present.
DOCTRINE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT I
A thorough study of the Pentecostal doctrine of the Holy Spirit giving attention to the person and work of the Holy Spirit. This course focuses on knowing and experiencing the Holy Spirit’s presence and empowerment in the Christian life.
THE LIFE OF CHRIST
A thorough study of the divinity and life of Christ and His earthly ministry as recorded in the four Gospels. This course also includes a historical survey of the Intertestamental Period. The political and socio-economic parameters that influenced His ministry are examined as well.
COVENANT THEOLOGY
This course introduces the student to the sacredness of the blood covenant of Jesus Christ. Covenant Theology reveals the principles and corresponding application of the blood covenant that is interwoven throughout Scripture. The student’s personal relationship with God will be enhanced as the powerful content of this course is internalized and practiced in a daily walk with God.
DISCIPLESHIP I
The Great Commission that Jesus gave to His disciples in Matt.28:19,20 was to go and make disciples of all men. This course presents the philosophy, approach, and tools that will assist the student in leading others to maturity.
CHRIST THE HEALER
Through a thorough Biblical study of divine healing the student taking this course will gain an understanding of the ministry of healing provided in the atonement of Jesus Christ. From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible provides the evidence that it is God’s will to heal the sick. Also covered in this course are reasons why people fail to receive healing and how to minister healing to others.
MINISTERIAL ETHICS
This course guides the ministerial candidate toward Biblical and theological norms regarding making correct moral choices in ministry. Offering a comprehensive overview of Christian ethics, the course presents the foundational keys to maintaining professionalism, integrity and ministerial etiquette.
DOCTRINE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT II
The work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer is constant. This course outlines the Holy Spirit’s role in the maturation process along with the definition and objectives inherent in the nine spiritual gifts. The relevance and function of spiritual gifts for today is fully explored as well.
CHURCH HISTORY I
This course offers a study of the development of the Christian church with emphasis upon the major historical movements, leaders, and theological issues from the First Century to the Middle Ages. Particular attention is given to the structure, purity and simplicity of the early church that led to it’s tremendous evangelical thrust.
HERMENEUTICS
We are told in the scriptures that we are to rightly divide the Word of God. In this class students learn how interpret the scriptures accurately. Principles are given that will keep the Bible student in truth and out of error. This course is imperative for all those who plan on preaching or teaching God’s Word.
